I have struggled before finding enough participants for surveys that I needed to do for University projects. The concept that SurveyCircle relies on is a great one - now, for my master's thesis I found: - 180 participants - who've passed all attention checks (mostly only motivated & honest participants on the platform) - in 3 weeks - with a super friendly support team that also helps you along the way (you get extra slots, if you can't use some data, because of participants who didn't pass the attention checks). SurveyCircle is a fantastic tool for students and researchers looking to gather survey respondents without relying on a large personal network or expensive panels. While the website might seem a bit outdated and text-heavy at first glance, it’s easy to use and serves its purpose well. You might notice that longer or denser questionnaires don’t always perform as well. Since many users are trying to earn points quickly, shorter and more engaging surveys tend to get better results. But that’s something you can work around with good design. Once you’ve earned enough points, the process becomes much more efficient and less time-consuming than trying to recruit through Facebook groups or other manual methods. Best of all, the team behind SurveyCircle is incredibly supportive, and responsive. If you're looking for a low-cost, student-friendly way to get high-quality responses, SurveyCircle is absolutely worth it.

Great Service. I collected a medium sized sample for a study on romantic relationships. Since my eligibility criteria were rather restrictive, I did not expect to get that many participants from SC. It worked out really well regardless and the quality of the data was better than that of data collected through Facebook (i.e. the ratio of complete vs. incomplete answers was twice as large). Slight drawback will probably be the very selective sample you get from using research exchange platforms. But considering the selection bias associated with recruiting online, academics (or so-called WEIRD people) are more likely to respond to free online studies anyway. Regardless, a quick way to get data of decent quality. So overall, I can only give out a straight-forward recommendation.

A great tool for researchers I am so grateful that SurveyCircle exists. I didn't want to rely on friends and social media for participants and SurveyCircle is awesome. It's easy to post a survey, easy to use and easy to earn points to raise your own survey. The added benefit is that completing other surveys is a great way of learning how to (or not to) put together a good survey experience.

Okay, it takes hours and days to collect enough points to get to the top of the rankings. But I learned a lot about how other students design surveys and I would say that I was able to improve my own surveys considerably. And I also gained interesting insights into other topics and research. I got enough participants for my own two surveys that I would definitely use it again. For me, the most transparent and fair platform for sharing surveys. And great support when I had questions. Thanks SurveyCircle!
