Overall, I had a really good experience and found SurveyCircle very helpful. Some things to be aware of if you're thinking about using it: (1) there are things you can do that will have a significant impact on how many survey responses you get (e.g. some of the biggest ones are that you do need to take a lot of other people's surveys and get a lot of points before you start getting a lot of responses coming in, and also if your survey's too long, it's likely to get less responses); and (2) you will get some responses where people clearly answered very hastily and didn't fill it out properly (e.g. straight-lining scales in your survey), so you should probably have clear-cut criteria ready to use to exclude certain survey responses for when people have clearly just sped through it without answering it properly, which would screw up the validity of your study if you have enough of those responses in there. So what I would say is that if you're aware of some of the limitations and challenges of SurveyCircle and willing to navigate those, it is worth using for many types of survey and can be a very useful tool. Just go in with your eyes wide open and try to use a strategy to get the most out of it. Also, please, please, please, when you're answering other people's surveys to get points so your survey can get more responses, take the time to do it properly. DON'T just rush through it and not answer properly. Answer it how you'd want people to answer yours. I was saddened by how common it is for people to just rush through the survey in like 2 minutes and not even answer things properly (e.g. straight-lining and stuff like that). Don't be one of those people. If everyone did it like that, the platform would have no usefulness whatsoever. So just answer people's surveys properly.

Time consuming, but absolutely worth it Okay, it takes hours and days to collect enough points to get to the top of the rankings. But I learned a lot about how other students design surveys and I would say that I was able to improve my own surveys considerably. And I also gained interesting insights into other topics and research. I got enough participants for my own two surveys that I would definitely use it again. For me, the most transparent and fair platform for sharing surveys. And great support when I had questions. Thanks SurveyCircle!

Great Service. I collected a medium sized sample for a study on romantic relationships. Since my eligibility criteria were rather restrictive, I did not expect to get that many participants from SC. It worked out really well regardless and the quality of the data was better than that of data collected through Facebook (i.e. the ratio of complete vs. incomplete answers was twice as large). Slight drawback will probably be the very selective sample you get from using research exchange platforms. But considering the selection bias associated with recruiting online, academics (or so-called WEIRD people) are more likely to respond to free online studies anyway. Regardless, a quick way to get data of decent quality. So overall, I can only give out a straight-forward recommendation.

SurveyCircle has been a life saver for me. I am glad I stumbled upon it. I had been sending out emails to various different groups on LinkedIn and Facebook on my own for 2 months. Absolutely no one responded. Of course there are so many scams out there, I can’t blame them. Once I joined SurveyCircle and participated by taking others’ that I was qualified for, I FINALLY started getting participation. As you participate in surveys, your own starts moving in the rankings. it is so exciting and exhilarating. As you move up in the rankings, you get the opportunity to have your survey posted officially on Facebook and Twitter and Instagram and LinkedIn…and all those social networking sites, many of which I never thought about joining. The system of collecting points by participating in other people's studies in order to move up your own study in the survey ranking is great because that way, you get back what you are willing to give. Also, I warmly recommend SurveyCircle for the fast, modern, and very kind customer service. No matter if we had technical problems or questions, the SurveyCircle team helped us very efficiently!

Life saver! Survey Circle has been the best tool to share my survey and recruit participants for my doctoral research where it helped me to collect most of the responses on a very low budget. It is trustworthy, reliable, valid, easy, accurate, transparent, with a super responsive team. However, it is recommeneded that Survey Circle extend its capacity and representation in the middle east and Arab countries as I believe it will have a great impact on the academic and market researchers; it will help many students who are on a budget to overcome a serious challenge and reach the target population for their study as well as companies and business owners.
